It was cold in Goma last night. Cold even for the standard of someone sleeping in a good room with two blankets.

It is hard to think about how tens of thousands of men, women and children spent the last night in the camps. To make things worse, few have enough wood for heating. And to make things worse, they have to be very careful by doing so. If your sheeting gets burned, you will never get a new one. Everyone knows that.

The rain also came early in the morning.

This view of Buhimba IDP camp was taken yesterday.
